CM4 - Full Screen/Windowed Issues | | 27 March, 2003 | Q1. I’m getting an error when opening CM4 “"Error:0x000D: Unable to open full screen mode" A1. This particular error relates to the screen size of your machine. CM4 requires a size of 1024x768 pixel resolution and 32-bit colour depth. If your particular graphics card or monitor cannot achieve this setting then I am afraid Cm4 will not run on the machine. The requirements for this particular game are higher than previous versions due to the enhanced 2d graphics engine built in. To find out what settings your graphics card/monitor runs at please try the following:
- Right-Click on your desktop, go to the Properties line of the menu, then click the settings tab.
- On the right, should be the resolution, on the left, the colour depth.
- Try adjusting them to run in the required modes. If they do not keep their settings, it means either your graphics or your monitor cannot support them.
In rare cases that the resolution is running the required settings but it still results in the error message being displayed, please go to your device manager and see if any graphics or monitors are listed. If not this could mean you are running Beta drivers for your graphics card and would need to download new ones. Unfortunately if these devices are not listed, the only way to tell what card you have would be to remove the card from your machine and actually have a look at the make and manufacturer to then visit the related website for driver support. Q2. Can I run the game in Small-Screen Mode? A2. If your graphics card CANNOT support the required resolution (see above) then small-screen mode will NOT work. |
